Two indies to watch—and a horror festival kicking off

Emberville is preparing for an Early Access launch on Steam, but its store page currently lists no confirmed release date. Cygnus Cross's pixel-art action RPG places players in an underground fantasy world where they can fight creatures, rescue survivors and help rebuild a ruined town. It also has a playable demo. For management fans, Probably Stolen — Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim is scheduled for October 28. Questing Goose Studio and tinyBuild promise a blend of trading, crafting, risky customer decisions and shady factions aboard a dystopian space station. Meanwhile, Steam Scream V runs October 26 to November 2. Valve's Halloween-focused event highlights eligible horror games, including discounted releases, demos and upcoming titles.
